History of my posting to SMK Chung Cheng, Sibu

Hi! Been busy lately and I haven't update and upload the photos but I will do so as soon as I have finished most of my official assignments. Anyway, I was posted to this school back in the year 2000. To be exact...on the 15th May 2000.
When I went there to report for duty, I was dressed in my best teaching regalia. I remembered shaving extra clean, bathed extra thoroughly and chose the best slacks and shirt. I even bought a new tie. I double checked my documents and file.
I left home much earlier than usual. At that time I had to cross the mighty Rajang River. The school was and still is situated across the river. I had to wait for the ferry. I had mixed feelings...excited and disappointed. A few days earlier I had received calls from the HQ telling me I was posted to a nearby school and a short while later I was told there was no vacancy there. Then the officer in charge told me as a matter of fact I had been posted to another school. Three times the HQ personnel called me and told the same thing. I had packed and unpacked my desktop...see I had no laptop at that time...it was quite frustrating. by the time, I almost gave up, the then principal of SMK Chung Cheng rang me up. He introduced himself and told me I must report for duty at his school as soon as possible.
I remembered asking him.."Where is that school? I never heard of it before. So he tried his best to describe its location and I almost went speechless when he mentioned Sg. Ma'aw, Tanjung Kunyit and Paradom...all seemed to be strange to me then. I was at a government quarters where my wife was teaching. yes1 In another town! Well...tell you how I got to that school later...stay tuned.
